Cambridge AS Level Accounting
The Cambridge AS Level Accounting curriculum for Grade 11 (syllabus 9706) introduces students to fundamental financial and management accounting principles, covering topics such as the accounting system, double-entry bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements for sole traders and partnerships, reconciliation and verification (including bank reconciliation and control accounts), and analysis of accounting information through ratio calculation and interpretation . It is assessed through two externally examined papers: Paper 1 (Multiple Choice, 1 hour 15 minutes) and Paper 2 (Structured Questions, 1 hour 30 minutes), which together test candidates' knowledge, application, analysis, and evaluation skills in real-world accounting contexts.
