Cambridge AS Level Economics

The Cambridge AS Level Economics curriculum for Grade 11 (syllabus 9708) provides students with foundational knowledge across six core areas: basic economic ideas and resource allocation, the price system and the microeconomy, government microeconomic intervention, the macroeconomy, government macroeconomic intervention, and international economic issues . It is assessed through two externally examined papers—Paper 1 (Multiple Choice, 1 hour) and Paper 2 (Data Response and Essays, 2 hours)—which together test candidates' knowledge, understanding, analysis, and evaluation skills through multiple-choice questions, data response questions, and structured essays.
