The Cambridge A Level Grade 12 Biology curriculum (syllabus 9700) extends the AS content by covering advanced topics including energy and respiration, photosynthesis, homeostasis, control and coordination, inheritance, selection and evolution, classification and biodiversity, and genetic technology . It is assessed through two externally examined papers—Paper 4 (A Level Structured Questions, 2 hours, 100 marks) and Paper 5 (Planning, Analysis and Evaluation, 1 hour 15 minutes, 30 marks)—together contributing 50% to the final A Level grade alongside the AS Level components.
