Cambridge A Level Business
The Cambridge A Level Grade 12 Business curriculum (syllabus 9609) extends the AS content by covering advanced topics across five key areas: Business and its Environment (external influences, business strategy, corporate planning), Human Resource Management (organizational structure, leadership, communication, HR strategy), Marketing (marketing analysis, strategy, international marketing), Operations Management (location, scale, quality management, operations strategy), and Finance and Accounting (financial statements, analysis of published accounts, investment appraisal, finance and accounting strategy) . It is assessed through two additional externally examined papers—Paper 3: Business Decision-Making (1 hour 45 minutes, based on a case study) and Paper 4: Business Strategy (1 hour 15 minutes, essay questions based on a case study)—which together contribute 50% to the final A Level grade alongside the AS Level components, with increasing emphasis on evaluation skills and strategic analysis.
