The South African CAPS Grade 12 Economics curriculum for the FET Phase is the culmination of the learning trajectory, preparing students for the final National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations across two three-hour papers . Paper 1 covers Macroeconomics (circular flow, business cycles, public sector, foreign exchange markets) and Economic Pursuits (economic growth and development, industrial development policies, South Africa's socio-economic performance indicators, inflation, tourism, and environmental sustainability), while Paper 2 covers Microeconomics (perfect and imperfect markets, market failures) and Contemporary Economic Issues.
