The IEB Grade 12 Economics curriculum for the FET Phase is the culmination of the learning trajectory, preparing students for the final National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination across two papers, each 2 hours long and worth 200 marks . The curriculum covers Paper 1 (Macroeconomics) topics including the circular flow model, business cycles, public sector economics, foreign exchange markets, and economic growth and development; and Paper 2 (Microeconomics and Contemporary Economic Issues) covering perfect and imperfect markets, market failures, environmental sustainability, and South Africa's socio-economic performance indicators.
