The Cambridge IGCSE Economics curriculum for Grades 10-11 (syllabuses 0455/0987) is organized into six main content areas: the basic economic problem, the allocation of resources, microeconomic decision makers, government and the macroeconomy, economic development, and international trade and globalisation . The curriculum is assessed through two externally examined papers—a 45-minute multiple choice paper (30% of the final grade) and a 2-hour 15-minute structured questions paper (70%)—with calculators permitted in both examinations.
